South Korea-based electro-punk duo Fat Hamster & KANG New delivers explosive live performances. Their sound fuses heavy basslines and distorted synths with lyrics that take aim at climate change, discrimination, and those in power.

Fat Hamster, who studied classical music and previously played in an alternative band, and KANG New, who played in a band while studying in Japan, met on Korea's indie scene. The two friends went on to found their own independent electronic label, "LetzRatz", and began performing together as Fat Hamster & KANG New.

Since emerging on Korea's festival circuit, including Zandari Festa and Asian Pop Festival, they released their debut album Brains in a Vat in 2025, earning a nomination for Best Asian Creative Artist at Taiwan's Golden Indie Music Awards and drawing attention from international radio platforms like KEXP and KXLU. That same year, they completed a European tour, taking the stage at Colours of Ostrava (Czech Republic), La Mar de Músicas (Spain), and Les Escales (France).

In 2026, they continue their global momentum with performances at Pentaport Rock Festival (Korea), Noche de Primavera (Mexico), CUEW x SYNCHRONICITY (Japan), Playtime Festival (Mongolia) and Reeperbahn Festival (Germany) further expanding their international reach.
